This project is for providing comprehensive Architectural and Engineering Consultancy Service for Construction of Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) for National Educational Society for Tribal Schools (NESTS), Ministry of Tribal Affairs, at 24 Locations of Odisha and 01 Location of Tamil Nadu. On approximately 15 acres of sites, each campus shall comprise a School Building, Boys & Girls Hostels, Kitchen & Dining Hall, Principal Quarter, Type-II & Type-III Quarters, Guest House, Sports Facility etc. and ground development and other associated works are to be provided. The tentative estimated cost of construction of the each school campus is ₹ 35 Crores. The objective of this Government of India initiative is to provide quality middle and high level education to Scheduled Tribe (ST) students in remote areas to enable them to join professional educational courses and subsequently get jobs in government, public & private sector. The infrastructure should promote the overall growth of the student (mental, physical, psychological) such that these children help uplift and bring about change in the society around them.

The development objective of the project is to increase tourism‐related benefits for local communities in targeted destinations. The project comprises destination planning and governance aims to test new approaches and establish the institutional structures, policies, and coordination mechanisms necessary for bringing together the public and private sectors and local communities for effective destination‐level tourism planning and governance. The tourist products development and management aims to enhance the tourist experience while simultaneously contributing to improving local living conditions and livelihood opportunities by transforming existing tourist attractions into tourist products that incorporate local communities both physically and economically. Support to local economic development aims to improve the linkages of those involved in the productive and creative economies with the tourism value chain in the project target areas by providing advisory, technical assistance, and financing. The project management aims to provide the necessary technical, advisory, and financial support for the adequate implementation, management, and coordination of the project using country system.

Nagaland is one of the North Eastern State chosen as one of the 100 cities to participate in the Smart City Challenge. Subsequently, the city was selected in the Fast Track Stage towards implementation of the Smart City Proposals identified in the challenge stage. Area Based Development proposals envisage retrofitting and redeveloping 285 acres of Core Area of Nagaland and transform it into a light-house for the city and to showcase it as a smart neighbourhood by improving livelihood of the residents residing within this area.

The centre will also increase the quality of agricultural professionals.
